ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ presented its Alden Perkins Dedicated Service Award to Jessa Michaels, of Sheridan, during the collegeβs Dec. 13 holiday celebration at Floβs Ristorante in Greenville.
Michaels joined MCC in September 2022 as a part-time Recreation Monitor. In November 2022, she moved into her current full-time position as Auxiliary Services Coordinator in the collegeβs Recreation Department.
While announcing the award, MCC President Dr. Bradley J. Barrick said Michaels received glowing nominations from her co-workers.
βJessa is being recognized by her peers for her strong work ethic, professionalism and commitment to MCC,β Dr. Barrick said. βShe is a very positive person and creates a warm and supportive environment where both students and colleagues feel valued.
βJessa makes student life and club participation on ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ feel energetic. She puts a lot of thought into creating events that are fun and engaging, to help students feel valued and included. And she does it all with a big smile and kind words,β he said.
The award recognizes dedicated service to MCC, commitment to high standards of work performance, care and concern for the public and fellow employees, and creativity and innovation. The MCC Board of Trustees initiated the award in 1986 as a posthumous tribute to Perkins, the collegeβs former Bursar.
